We are under way on restoration of Amsterdam. Today almost everything not bolted down, and some things bolted down, were removed from the bar for cleaning and storage.

Our apologies to those of you who left messages on Saturday and Sunday. We were not able to access our messages until late Sunday night. We will be returning all of your calls first thing Monday morning. Thank you for your patience. We will make arrangements to safely return all of your credit cards. In the meantime they are safe and secure.

We would also like to thank everyone for there heartfelt messages of support and concern. We are working hard to ensure Amsterdam is back up and running as quickly as possible. More info to come.

We are planning a rather large "RE-GRAND OPENING PARTY!" If you would like to receive an invite please join our e-mail list (above). As always, Amsterdam never sells or rents our list. Your information is strictly confidential.

Well it has been a very busy couple of days. All of the furnishings are being cleaned. All of the insulation has been removed and the wipe down has begun. The ceiling will require cleaning, varnish, new insulation, and new cover paper. Tomorrow we begin the process of picking paint colors, carpet, and new ceiling fans. It's amazing what smoke does to everything it touches.

As of today we are right on schedule. Our estimated reopen date remains at 2 weeks. We have our power restored Wednesday morning. We will be completely repainted by Sunday. All of our sound equipment and lighting is being professionally cleaned and will be returned next week.

Thanks again to our community for its tremendous support. Updates to follow!

We are moving along quickly on our restoration. S.O.S. Restoration is working through the weekend to ensure we are able to open on Friday, October 11th @ 8p.m.
We ran into a bit of a snag during the week when it was determined there was additional smoke damage to the area above the Women's restroom. This required removing the ceiling, all of the A/C duct work, cleaning the rafters and painting everything to remove all traces of smoke. It put us behind by a day or two, but we are making up for this by working through the weekend.
We have added some recent photos, which include some of the damage, and more important the restoration of Amsterdam.

The final coats of paint went on tonight. Last minute touch ups will occur tomorrow morning. We have begun the process of bringing back the things which could be cleaned and did not retain smoke. In the morning we are going to begin to put new bottles of liquor up on the bar shelves. Return all of the glassware, ashtrays, and other things which allow us to operate. We are still on schedule for Friday - one way or another - you may have to bear with us because some of our furnishings may not be returned/replaced until next week.
For example the Piano may not be placed back in the bar until Monday. This is due to the intensive cleaning and restoration which must be completed prior to its return. Once it is back in place we will be able to have it tuned and our Sunday "Live Entertainment" can resume. We are trying to have this for Sunday, but it might not work.
There are many new and fun changes happening at Amsterdam! We can hardly wait for you all to come back and let us know what you think!
More photos to follow, including ones which show some of the smoke damage we suffered...keep checking back!
